Environment

Large outdoor play area for gross motor movement

Situated on nine acres of land, the school was specifically designed to be a Montessori school. It is surrounded by grassy play areas, hills and woods – a perfect setting for freeing the child to learn as a child learns, through exploration of his/her environment. The classrooms are bright and airy with child-sized furnishings and inviting materials.

Montessori School of Waukesha offers a unique educational experience. Multi-age class groups allow children to progress through the curriculum at their own pace. Younger children are constantly stimulated by the interesting work of the older children. At the same time, older students serve as role models and mentors for the younger ones. Our trained and certified Montessori teachers work individually with children while maintaining a calm and peaceful classroom. Children benefit from a three-year cycle of study with the same teacher, thus encouraging relationships and a strong sense of community.  It is an atmosphere based on grace and courtesy where children learn to respect each other, the teacher, the materials and their surroundings. Our academic faculty consists of  teachers and support staff whose goal is to help each child work toward his/her fullest potential.
