The Montessori School of Waukesha (MSOW), an independent, nonprofit Montessori school serving students from Toddler through 8th Grade, is seeking an Interim Director of Student Services for the 2026–27 school year.


This K–8 school leadership position oversees student support services, coordinates special education services, manages student records, supports enrollment, and partners with families and faculty to help every student succeed in a Montessori environment.


Primary Responsibilities


Student Support

  • Coordinate support services for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, Behavior Plans, and other student support plans.
  • Partner with classroom teachers and families to implement accommodations, interventions, and support strategies.
  • Attend IEP, 504, and student support meetings with families and service providers.
  • Monitor student progress and help coordinate appropriate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to faculty regarding student support strategies and available resources.

Special Education & Student Services

  • Coordinate special education and related services with CESA, private providers, community agencies, and other service partners.
  • Manage the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP) and ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Coordinate schedules for specialists, therapists, and evaluators.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with families, service providers, and community partners.

Student Records & Enrollment

  • Oversee confidential student records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist with student placement and enrollment, particularly for students requiring additional support services.
  • Participate in school tours, open houses, and enrollment events.
  • Support prospective families by answering questions related to student services.

School Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Head of School, administrative team, and faculty to strengthen school-wide student support systems.
  • Recommend improvements to student support procedures and practices.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers and families regarding student success and available support services.
  • Participate in school events, parent education opportunities, and community activities throughout the school year.

Requisitos mínimos

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Wisconsin Special Education licensure preferred
  • Experience in student services, special education coordination, school administration, or a similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of child development, K–8 student support services, and special education processes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, faculty, service providers, and community partners
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and experience using electronic student information and recordkeeping systems
  • Experience in a Montessori, independent school, or public school setting is preferred
